Issuing a Europass “European Bachelor” and a Graduate Diploma of legal linguist (German or Spanish)

The European Law Degree is a trilingual law programme taught in French, English and Spanish or German. This degree prepares students for legal and judicial careers at national, European and international level. It provides them with in-depth knowledge of the French, European and international legal systems.

Prerequisites

  • Holder of a general baccalaureate or its equivalent (A-levels, DEC, High School Diploma, Abitur, Bachillerato / PAU…)
  • Good level of English (B2 according to the european framework)
  • Basic knowledge of German or Spanish

Aim of the programme

Study French law and European, English, Spanish or German law (foreign laws are taught in their original language) and comparative law.

Acquire the skills and fundamentals of French law.

Master legal methodology and develop legal reasoning and argumentation.

EDUCATIONAL ADVANTAGES

PROFESSIONALISATION

Mandatory 8-week internship over the 3 years of the bachelor’s degree, including a minimum of 4 weeks abroad (within a company, firm, institution or summer programme, etc.) or in France within an international department.

Doctor of Public Law

Xavier PACREAU is a doctor of public law. He has been a permanent lecturer at the Faculty since 2015, is Head of the European law degree on the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus and is a member of the C3RD. He is involved in courses such as introduction to public law, constitutional law and refugee litigation. His areas of research are international criminal law, the law of the use of force, asylum law and humanitarian law.

“The Euro Licence enables students to become lawyers capable of thinking in terms of comparative law and evolving in different legal cultures and linguistic environments. The courses, taught by French lecturers or visiting professors from renowned European universities, enable students to study the law of other countries (English, Spanish or German) in addition to French and European law. The kindness and availability of the lecturers, as well as their interactive teaching techniques, are highly motivating. I also really appreciated the working environment, the spirit of camaraderie, the many student activities and the academic support that encourage us to give our best.
