Service-Learning: education in action

On Friday 12 September, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Université Catholique de Lille will host the first Service-Learning Festival at Campus WENOV (FGES, 1st floor, rooms WE B 139-144, 177 allée Clémentine Deman, Lille).

Service-Learning: an experiential approach

Service-Learning is a teaching method that combines academic learning with hands-on engagement. Students are invited to take part in concrete projects led by partner associations, directly linked to their skills and academic pathway.

This recognised and fully accredited form of involvement fosters both human and professional qualities: a sense of responsibility, adaptability, teamwork and openness to others.

A festival to explore, connect and choose

Throughout the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Discover Service-Learning projects proposed by community-based associations
  • Exchange ideas with field practitioners and fellow students already involved
  • Gain a clear understanding of how Service-Learning can be integrated into their studies
  • Meet the Université Catholique de Lille Humanities team

The event is designed as an open and welcoming occasion where everyone can drop in at their convenience to gather information, ask questions and identify a project that matches their interests.

An invitation to get involved

The Faculty of Law strongly encourages its students to attend the festival and to consider embarking on a Service-Learning project from the start of the academic year. Taking part in such an experience not only enriches a university education but also helps prepare future professionals and citizens to play an active role in society.

Service-Learning: a meaningful way to bring your studies to life.
