The “Cellule Fiscale” is back

A free service available to everyone (French speaking)

From 20 to 22 May 2026, the Faculty of Law of the Université Catholique de Lille is relaunching its “Cellule Fiscale” (Tax Unit), a free service offering assistance with tax returns. Set up by Simon Daragon, Senior Lecturer and Director of the Master in Law & Tax Engineering, this initiative has two objectives: to help citizens complete their tax returns and to provide students with a practical learning environment.

How does it work?

The Cellule Fiscale is setting up a dedicated call centre for three days. From 9am to 6pm without interruption, students, working in pairs and supervised by lecturers and professionals, will answer taxpayers’ questions about tax matters. Whether the queries concern the deduction of business expenses, the taxation of rental income, the declaration of foreign bank accounts or the taxation of cryptocurrencies, the students will provide precise answers tailored to each situation. If a question proves too specialised and exceeds their level of expertise, it will be reviewed with a lecturer before a follow-up call is made. This approach ensures a reliable and professional response to every enquiry.

Intensive coaching for students

A few weeks before the event, the students receive intensive training on the practical aspects of filing tax returns. Under the guidance of Simon Daragon, they are prepared to anticipate the most frequently asked questions and to handle complex situations. This training is supplemented by practical drills that enable them to test their knowledge and prepare to provide a high-quality service.

The Cellule Fiscale aims to offer students a comprehensive insight into this field, giving them the opportunity to acquire practical skills that they can apply in their future careers.

A rewarding experience for students and taxpayers

This event offers a truly enriching personal and professional experience. For students, it is an opportunity to tackle real-world cases and deepen their expertise. For taxpayers, it is a chance to receive expert advice free of charge, whilst supporting the training of the sector’s future professionals.

In 2025, over 400 people sought assistance from the Cellule Fiscale. This 2026 edition aims to handle even more enquiries!
