New Campus in Issy-les-Moulineaux

Find out what our new Issy-les-Moulineaux campus, the “Vaisseau”, will look like when it opens to students in September 2024!

This is a major step for the Faculty of Law of the Université Catholique de Lille, whose objective is to offer its students the best training conditions possible.

In September 2024, the Vaisseau will become the new living space for all Issy-les-Moulineaux students. Located on the banks of the Seine river, this emblematic site is designed to accommodate a growing number of students in an exceptional setting, with a specially adapted interior architecture and high-tech equipment for teachers and students. This former business incubator is undergoing a series of major works, with the opening to students scheduled for 2024.

A unique new location optimised to host a rich university life.

The purchase of this architecturally impressive 6,300m2 building in 2022 represents a significant investment for the Institut Catholique de Lille. With a current enrolment of 950 students in all years and a sharp increase in applications, the Catholic University’s Faculty of Law is aiming to use Le Vaisseau to accommodate up to 1,800 students on its Issy-les-Moulineaux campus. The aim was therefore to find a location that could meet the challenge of this size, as well as a structure that could meet the high standards of the teaching provided. With Le Vaisseau, the Faculty of Law of Issy-les-Moulineaux will be able to offer its students an exceptional environment tailored to their needs and equipped with all the technology they require to succeed in their studies.

The work will comply with higher education standards, reflect the values of our Faculty of Law, and reflect the university’s desire to increase its visibility.

The aim of the works is to bring the building into compliance with all higher education standards, with the creation of 4 auditorium, a library, a cafeteria, numerous classrooms and administrative offices. A complete energy renovation of the building will also be carried out, while the surrounding environment, and in particular its garden on the banks of the Seine, will be entirely preserved. Improving and preserving our environment is one of the fundamental values of the Université Catholique de Lille. The new site also reflects the university’s desire to raise its visibility, thanks to its strategic location at the heart of Issy-les-Moulineaux, a modern and dynamic town that has been home to the FLD and its students for over 10 years now.

As Ioannis Panoussis, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Université Catholique de Lille, who has been supported throughout the project by his Vice-Dean, Christophe Bellon, who is in charge of the parisian campus, points out: “The aim of this ambitious project, through this ‘Vaisseau’, is to enable our Faculty to ensure its development while guaranteeing that each student can continue their studies in the best conditions. For us, this is a real achievement, and one for which we have worked alongside a number of players and partners, including the Property Projects Department and the General Services Department of the Institut Catholique de Lille, the Ateliers Jean Nouvel and the Issy-les-Moulineaux Town Hall. This exceptional project, which has now become a reality, is a great pride for us, and augurs well for the future of our students, the Institut Catholique de Lille and our Faculty of Law.

We look forward to welcoming all our students
in this great learning environment!
