Masterclass Global Actors for Peace celebrates its 10th anniversary

From 21 to 25 September 2026, the Faculty of Law of the Université Catholique de Lille will host the 10th edition of the international Masterclass Global Actors for Peace, organised by the Centre de Recherche sur les Relations entre les Risques et le Droit (C3RD). Under the theme “Reshaping Futures”, this anniversary edition will bring together researchers, professionals, students and civil society representatives to reflect on contemporary challenges to peace in a world shaped by multiple crises.

A bilingual event (French/English), the Masterclass brings together specialists each year from the fields of law, political science and philosophy, as well as representatives of international organisations, NGOs, and national and international courts. Together, they will explore the major transformations shaping the futures of peace: the resilience of international law and human rights, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, peace processes, democracy, multilateralism, and the changing landscape of international relations.

To mark this 10th edition, the programme will also place particular emphasis on the arts as a means of fostering dialogue and peace. Round-table discussions, lectures, a retrospective exhibition celebrating the ten editions of the Masterclass, workshops, a film screening and discussion, as well as musical and choreographic performances, will enrich this week of exchange and reflection.

This year’s edition will notably bring together Florian Louis (Professor and historian of international relations at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales – EHESS, and researcher at the Institut géopolitique d’études avancées – ENS), Anne Peters (Director of the Max Planck Institute’s Department for Comparative Public Law and International Law), Péter Paczolay (Judge at the European Court of Human Rights), Valérie Rosoux (FNRS Research Director and Professor at the Université Catholique de Louvain), Frédéric Ramel (Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po Paris and researcher at CERI), Marie Saiget (Associate Professor at the Université de Lille, researcher at CERAPS and member of the Institut Universitaire de France), Anne Bazin (Associate Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po Lille and researcher at CERAPS), Pierre Guenancia (Emeritus Professor of the History of Modern Philosophy at the Université de Bourgogne), Quentin Couvreur (PhD candidate in Political Science at CERI – Sciences Po Paris), and Ayrton Aubry (PhD in International Relations and Scientific Director of the International Relations research area at LASPAD). The programme will also feature artists Sajad Kiani (Iranian musician) and Mahda Razzazi (choreographer and dancer working at the intersection of Iranian and French cultures).
