Welcoming the 2025-2026 academic year

Patrick Scauflaire, President-Rector of the Université Catholique de Lille, shares his message as we begin this new academic year:

‘A warm welcome to you all,

Whether you are a student, a member of the teaching and research staff, a healthcare professional or part of our administrative teams, I am delighted to greet you at the start of this academic year. For those joining us for the first time, our campuses will offer you many opportunities to explore a wide range of activities and inspiring places. Our campuses are open, vibrant spaces, and we believe that this dynamic is central to the mission of the Université Catholique de Lille.

The year 2025 has given us the chance to rediscover the uniqueness and richness of our project. The first semester was filled with events, emotions, memories and commemorations. Looking ahead, the new academic year will also bring a highlight from 9 to 12 October: the ECOPOSS Festival. This will be a major event featuring encounters, exchanges, a book fair and a musical. For three days, the University will open its doors to welcome leading figures such as Plantu, Camille Kouchner and Thierry Marx. Debates will be hosted, reflecting the University’s vocation to serve society and to play an active role in shaping change.

I hope this academic year will give each of you the chance to find your place within this project, to contribute to it, to draw inspiration from it, and to experience both fulfilment and growth.

I wish you all an excellent year ahead.’
