The Vaisseau hosted its first graduation ceremony

On Friday 23 May 2025, the Faculty of Law of the Université Catholique de Lille organised the graduation ceremony for Master’s students from the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus. This solemn and meaningful occasion celebrated the class of 2023-2024, named the Robert Badinter class, and marked a milestone for the Faculty: it was the very first ceremony to take place within the Vaisseau, the Faculty’s newly inaugurated building on the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus, opened in September last year.

An event marked by symbolic moments

The ceremony was held in the Atrium, the Vaisseau’s spacious central area, in the presence of graduates, their families, academic and administrative staff and a number of institutional guests, including representatives from the Issy-les-Moulineaux Town Hall.

This event also provided the opportunity to formally inaugurate the Robert Badinter lecture theatre, named in honour of the renowned lawyer, Minister of Justice, President of the Constitutional  Council, Senator for Hauts-de-Seine and Professor of Private law. Following speeches by Patrick Scauflaire, President-Rector of the Université Catholique de Lille, Sarah Durelle-Marc, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Aurélie Thieriet-Duquesne, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law, Christophe Bellon, Vice-Dean in charge of political and institutional relations and Fabienne Liadze, Deputy-Mayor in charge of culture at Issy-les-Moulineaux, a commemorative plaque was unveiled to inscribe this emblematic name in the history of our campus.

Graduates were then invited to the stage one by one and the class majors were honoured. The commitment of the student associations was recognised with the presentation of the traditional student association trophies.

A convivial moment in the gardens

The ceremony concluded with a reception in the Faculty’s gardens, offering guests and graduates a chance to continue conversations in a warm and informal setting.

Once again, we extend our sincere congratulations to the Robert Badinter class and wish all graduates every success in their future careers!
