CNIL GDPR seminar at the Faculty of Law

The Research Centre of the Faculty of Law of the Université Catholique de Lille (C3RD), in partnership with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL – French data protection authority), is organising a seminar dedicated to the challenges and perspectives of health data. This event will bring together experts from the CNIL, jurists, researchers, healthcare professionals and digital players for an in-depth debate on the crucial challenges linked to the management of this sensitive data.

Why should you take part?

Healthcare data is at the heart of the digital transformation of the medical sector, fostering research, innovation and personalised care. However, the use of this data raises fundamental questions about confidentiality, cybersecurity, the legal framework and ethics. This seminar will provide an opportunity to understand these issues and anticipate future regulatory developments.

Topics covered

  • Data protection and confidentiality: application of the GDPR and specific regulatory framework (CNIL doctrine)
  • Security and cybersecurity: strategies for dealing with increasing cyber-attacks targeting the healthcare sector
  • Legal and ethical framework: consent, anonymisation and secondary use of data
  • Interoperability and access to databases: facilitating research while guaranteeing a strict governance system
  • AI and predictive medicine: issues of transparency and algorithmic bias
  • New regulatory frameworks: legislative developments with the European Health Data Space (Espace Européen des Données de Santé – DHDS)
  • Patient empowerment: the patient’s role in managing their own data
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: discussions between health institutions, researchers, companies and regulators
