500 legal consultations reached for the Law Bus!

March was very rich in symbolic events for the FLD Law Bus. As it celebrated its 3rd anniversary in November 2022, the evolution of its missions and the number of people attending its sessions have continued to increase. This is a double observation of the growing need for litigants to be able to seek advice in so-called “legal desert” areas, but above all it is the proof of a model that works while ensuring a real service to society.

The number of beneficiaries shows this success, with 4,200 people received in the bus by March 21 and more than 300 students having taken a seat on the Bus as part of their training at the FLD. Since the beginning of 2023, 33 meetings per month have been held, covering 25 towns in the North of France, including Calais, where the Bus’ mission with migrants continues. An important detail is that, while many litigants want to benefit from its services, the number of students signing up for the sessions is also growing. At the beginning of the academic year, a large number of them attended the information meeting dedicated to the Bus, proving their desire to become fully involved in this very fine example of service to society that it represents. This was a great opportunity for them to combine theoretical learning with practice by attending interviews conducted by volunteer lawyers who respond to legal difficulties with experience and kindness.

A big thank you to the FLD “Solidarity” team, to our partners and to the many students who invested themselves in making this project a success, and above all, a very nice way to promote the values of our University.
