On Friday 3 April 2026, students from the Master’s in Practice of Business Law<\/strong> of the Faculty of Law of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille<\/strong>\u00a0 and second-year Bachelor\u2019s students from LiDD<\/strong>, our university\u2019s School of Design, took part in an immersive day dedicated to Legal Design<\/strong>, organised by Manuel Pogu<\/strong>, Head of Teaching for the Bachelor\u2019s in Design \/ Product Design.<\/p>\n

This event marked the first collaboration between lawyers and designers on a joint project, fully demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary work. For the day, the Master\u2019s students volunteered their time, making themselves available to help the design students understand and make use of complex legal content.<\/p>\n

Using a real-life case provided by LiDD<\/strong>, law students conducted an in-depth analysis of legal documents, which they then shared with design students during collaborative workshops. Their role was to provide insights, shed light on the issues at stake and make the content accessible, thereby informing the creative process. For their part, the design students fully embraced this content and transformed it. Thanks to their user-centred approach, they devised innovative visual materials capable of making legal information clearer, more readable and more engaging.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Throughout the day, there was a constant exchange of ideas: the lawyers provided support and advice, whilst the designers asked questions, rephrased concepts and suggested new ways of representing the law. This dialogue enabled everyone to step outside their usual framework and develop a joint response, drawing on a combination of their respective areas of expertise.<\/p>\n

The afternoon brought this teamwork to fruition, with visual proposals that reflected the initial legal analyses. The law students continued to play an active role by ensuring the accuracy of the content, whilst the designers drew on their creativity to make it easier to understand.<\/p>\n

Beyond introducing participants to Legal Design<\/strong>, the day above all highlighted how well the two disciplines complement each other and the strength of working as a team: a collaborative effort in which the law students\u2019 commitment was fully integrated into a process of exchange and co-creation with the design students. It was an enriching experience, working towards a shared goal: making the law more accessible through design.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
