{"id":35224,"date":"2026-03-06T14:48:31","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T13:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/?p=35224"},"modified":"2026-03-06T14:48:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T13:48:31","slug":"two-fld-student-associations-honoured-at-the-student-engagement-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/en\/two-fld-student-associations-honoured-at-the-student-engagement-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Two FLD student associations honoured at the Student Engagement Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"839\">The <strong>Faculty of Law<\/strong> of the <strong data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"694\">Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille<\/strong> is proud to see two of its student associations recognised at the Student Engagement Awards: <em data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"815\">Sourire d\u2019Enfant du Congo<\/em> and the <em data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"838\">Legal Clinic<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"1192\">Organised by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille<\/span><\/span>, the event highlights the values of solidarity, innovation and responsibility demonstrated by students across the university. It brought together many participants, including students, members of the university community and representatives from the city of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Lille<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1313\">Several prizes were awarded to initiatives with a strong social impact, and a total of 14 associations were recognised.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1415\"><strong>The two associations from the Faculty of Law that received awards perfectly illustrate these values.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 data-section-id=\"19t0hch\" data-start=\"1417\" data-end=\"1452\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The Legal Clinic wins 2nd prize<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"1453\" data-end=\"1864\">The project involves organising regular legal advice sessions in partnership with the <strong>Bus de l\u2019Acc\u00e8s au Droit<\/strong> and<strong> <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Les Restos du C\u0153ur<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, directly at food distribution sites across the Lille metropolitan area. Four times a month, volunteers run three-hour sessions to welcome, listen to and provide free information to individuals about their rights (employment, family law, immigration, etc.).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1866\" data-end=\"2175\">Each session supports several beneficiaries by providing clear guidance or directing them towards appropriate legal services. By bringing legal assistance directly to communities in areas with limited access to legal services, the project helps promote access to justice while strengthening local social ties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1866\" data-end=\"2175\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Capture-decran-2026-03-05-164552-300x190.png\" width=\"493\" height=\"312\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 data-section-id=\"1po0lep\" data-start=\"2177\" data-end=\"2221\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Sourire d\u2019Enfant du Congo wins 3rd prize<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2488\">Their project, <em data-start=\"2237\" data-end=\"2255\">\u201cLa roue tourne\u201d<\/em>, aims to provide the Mama Koko orphanage, which cares for 400 children in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Kinshasa<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Democratic Republic of the Congo<\/span><\/span>, with wheelchairs and crutches to improve support for children with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2490\" data-end=\"2862\">After identifying the needs with the orphanage\u2019s management team, the association will purchase three refurbished wheelchairs and three pairs of crutches adapted to children\u2019s growth. The equipment will be delivered on site in May 2026.
