On Wednesday 14 May 2025, the Faculty of Law of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille<\/strong> had the pleasure of hosting a study day<\/strong> dedicated to the challenges of health data<\/strong>, organised by its research centre (C3RD<\/a>)<\/strong> in partnership with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL<\/a>)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, the Saint-Louis lecture theatre welcomed rich and in-depth exchanges<\/strong> between representatives of the CNIL<\/strong>, legal experts<\/strong>, researchers<\/strong>, healthcare professionals<\/strong> and actors from the digital sector<\/strong>. Together, they explored the many dimensions of health data governance<\/strong>, from privacy protection<\/strong> and cybersecurity<\/strong> to ethics<\/strong>, regulation<\/strong> and the development of artificial intelligence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An essential interdisciplinary dialogue<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Among the highlights of the day were key contributions from CNIL experts<\/strong>, who provided valuable insights<\/strong> into the application of the GDPR<\/strong> in the healthcare sector<\/strong>, growing cybersecurity requirements<\/strong> in the face of targeted attacks<\/strong>, and the forthcoming European Health Data Space (EHDS)<\/strong>. The discussions highlighted the urgent need for ongoing dialogue<\/strong> between regulators<\/strong>, researchers<\/strong>, clinicians<\/strong> and industry stakeholders<\/strong>\u00a0in order to build ethical and effective frameworks for data governance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A Faculty fully committed to digital challenges<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

With this event, our Faculty of Law<\/strong> reaffirms its commitment to offering a space for reflection<\/strong> and debate<\/strong> on the major legal and societal transformations of our time.<\/strong> The success of the day is a clear indication of the significance of these issues<\/strong>, situated at the crossroads of law, healthcare and digital innovation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
