{"id":31615,"date":"2025-05-14T08:01:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T07:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/?p=31615"},"modified":"2025-05-13T16:25:03","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T15:25:03","slug":"european-immersion-for-prepa-d1-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/en\/european-immersion-for-prepa-d1-students\/","title":{"rendered":"European immersion for Pr\u00e9pa D1 students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 7 May, students from the &#8216;<em><strong>Pr\u00e9pa D1<\/strong><\/em>&#8216; (Law and Economics) programme, jointly offered by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/marcq-institution.com\/campus-robert-talmy\/campus-prepad1-presentation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marcq Institution<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/formation\/classes-preparatoires-d-1-droit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Faculty of Law of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, travelled to <strong>Brussels<\/strong> for a day of discovery at the heart of the<strong> European institutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of their <strong>academic curriculum<\/strong> and in connection with <strong>Europe Day<\/strong> (9 May), this educational visit provided them with an opportunity to explore the <strong>challenges of European citizenship<\/strong>, the <strong>democratic functioning<\/strong> of the<strong> European Union<\/strong> and its <strong>key political priorities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At the <strong>Parlamentarium<\/strong>, the <strong>European Parliament&#8217;s visitor centre<\/strong>, the students followed an <strong>immersive route<\/strong> retracing the <strong>major milestones in the history of European integration<\/strong>. They then had the chance to enter the <strong>Parliament&#8217;s hemicycle<\/strong>, an emblematic venue where decisions are made that affect the daily lives of millions of European citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The visit continued at the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> with two <strong>insightful lectures<\/strong>: one on the<strong> role of the European Commissioners<\/strong>, the other on <strong>current issues related to EU competition policy<\/strong>. The presentations by <strong>Francesco Tuzi<\/strong> and <strong>Camille Ammeloot<\/strong> gave students an insght into the <strong>practical workings of the institutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This day in Brussels is fully in line with the aims of the &#8216;<em><strong>Pr\u00e9pa D1<\/strong><\/em>&#8216;: to offer students a <strong>demanding and practical education that is open to European issues<\/strong>.
