{"id":21554,"date":"2022-10-27T15:10:01","date_gmt":"2022-10-27T14:10:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/?p=21554"},"modified":"2022-11-02T15:25:34","modified_gmt":"2022-11-02T14:25:34","slug":"a-look-back-at-some-of-our-proud-students-speeches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/en\/a-look-back-at-some-of-our-proud-students-speeches\/","title":{"rendered":"A look back at some of our proud students&#8217; speeches!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Speech at the Peace Conference and interview with the President of Eurojust<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/rotary-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21158 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/rotary-1-300x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/rotary-1-300x100.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.fld-lille.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/rotary-1.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>During the Conference<strong> &#8220;<u>Le long chemin de la paix&#8221;<\/u>,<\/strong>\u00a0two of our DHSD Masters students came alongside two Nobel Peace Price winners to defend the cause of women, a moment of great emotion for the young women whose performance was remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by the<strong>\u00a0Rotary Hauts-de-France, Belgique, Luxembourg<\/strong>, of which the Faculty of Law of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille is a partner, the perfomance hall &#8220;le Nouveau Si\u00e8cle&#8221; welcomed on 15th October, <strong>M. le Docteur Denis Mukwege 2018 Nobel Peace Price Winner<\/strong> in recognition of his commitment as an active defender and activist in the defence of human rights, and <strong>Mme Ouided Bouchamaoui, 2015 Nobel Peace Price Winner<\/strong> obtained for her support to the democratic transition in Tunisia and the rescue of the country from a political crisis through the organisation of the national dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>During this event, which dealt in particular with the themes of<strong><em> The strength of women<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>The construction of peace<\/em><\/strong> with Rotary, Civil Society and International Institutions, <strong>Glory Ojesanmi and Lisa F. Fogens<\/strong> were able to express their point of view through a speech that was both eloquent and brilliant, dedicated to the issue of protection against violence against women, a theme that was particularly important for both of them. It was a moment that was all the more memorable for them as they were able to speak just before Dr Denis Mukwege, a true symbol of peace.<\/p>\n<p>While our congratulations go to Glory and Lisa for their investment and exemplary involvement in this cause, we wanted to highlight the interview given by Glory Ojesanmi to <strong>the President of Eurojust, Ladislav Hamran<\/strong>, in which the young woman was able to address the issue of <strong>human trafficking and the ways in which it could be curbed<\/strong>.
