The Career Center<\/h1>\n

The Career Center is a place dedicated to all students and graduates of the faculties of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille.
\nThe aim is to support them in defining and shaping their professional project and their career.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Available as soon as you start studying at the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille and throughout your professional life, the Career Center is staffed by recruitment and career management experts and business specialists.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Equipped with modern and appropriate tools, its aim is to guide students, graduates and employees, to provide them with advice and to develop useful networks.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_single_image image=”749″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The Career Center provides collective and individual support for students in their pursuit of studies. It is a bridge between courses, techniques for writing a CV and a cover letter, searching for internships and jobs, preparing for interviews, work experience, etc.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]This service centralises internships, work-study and job offers, organises events such as workshops to help students make the right choices for their studies and put their career plans into action.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″]

\u00ab Par exemple, le Jobdating que nous proposons depuis 6 ans est tr\u00e8s attendu aussi bien par les \u00e9tudiants que les entreprises. Cette demi-journ\u00e9e r\u00e9pond aux besoins de l\u2019ensemble des fonctions des entreprises. Les entreprises peuvent voir en une apr\u00e8s-midi un maximum de candidats qualifi\u00e9s et disposent de leur CV. Ce dispositif participe \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9gration de nos jeunes dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s dont 83 %* trouvent un emploi dans les 6 mois apr\u00e8s l\u2019obtention de leur master 2 \u00bb<\/p>\n

First steps in the professional world<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]D\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de licence, la Facult\u00e9 de Droit (FLD) associe \u00e0 ses cursus des stages obligatoires. Plus l’\u00e9tudiant appr\u00e9hende t\u00f4t le monde du travail, plus il d\u00e9couvre la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 des m\u00e9tiers et plus il acquiert, dans le m\u00eame temps, des comp\u00e9tences qui s\u00e9duiront les recruteurs.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]During the bachelor’s degree, an 8-weeks internship has to be carried out in order to validate their studies. Students have the choice of doing their placement in a single structure or splitting this period as they wish to discover different structures and professions.<\/p>\n

In the Master’s programme, the emphasis is on the completion of an internship, known as a long-term internship, particularly in the Master’s 2 programme where a minimum of 2 to 3 months’ internship is compulsory (depending on the Master’s programme). However, in reality, the vast majority of students carry out a 5 to 6 month internship in order to acquire a first real experience that will open the doors to their future employment.<\/p>\n

This internship enables them to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-life situations and assess their operational capabilities.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6763″ img_size=”large” alignment=”right”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”6764″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″]

Whether they are an opportunity to discover a profession, a structure or even a sector of activity, or a chance to acquire your first professional skills, work placements are an integral part of your university career. It is compulsory for students to undertake a work placement from the bachelor's level. The minimum duration is 2 months over the 3 years of the degree, but I often advise them to do one a year to build up their CVs from the start of their studies and refine their career plans.
