Why did you choose the FLD & Marcq Institution?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI chose the FLD and Marcq Institution because I find the idea of combining university and preparatory courses very interesting, the idea of small classes really convinced me.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe fact that you have to deal with all the disciplines (law, economics) which allows you to remain open to future opportunities. In addition, other very interesting subjects are highlighted, such as general culture for example.<\/p>\n

How do you organise yourself between the courses on the FLD campus and the courses at Marcq Institution?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe advantage is that the timetables allow us to be on one site one day and on another the next, which avoids long journeys.<\/p>\n

What stood out for you?<\/em><\/strong>
\nFor me, what really marked my first year were the strong connection we created within the Prep, the cohesion allowed me to make some very good friends.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nTo succeed in the Pre-Prep program, you have to be rigorous, enjoy reading and writing and know how to learn from your mistakes to progress.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?<\/em><\/strong>
\nDon’t hesitate to be curious and interested in current affairs.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any students association?<\/em><\/strong>
\nPersonally, I don’t belong to any, but I’ve had the opportunity to take part in events organised by Marcq, such as the eloquence competition, which was a real experience!<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nAfter this course, I’ll take the ENS Rennes competitive entrance exam, but I’m also interested in a master’s degree in international relations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″]\n

Why did you choose the FLD & Marcq Institution?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI chose La FLD for its reputation in both work and student life, in a campus that life, within a campus that leaves room for meetings and studies, in order to studies, in order to develop in the most favourable way possible, in quality and richness of the curriculum.
\nAt the same time, Marcq Institution represents an exceptional infrastructure by the level of its high school, which motivated me to embark on a course of excellence, alongside motivated students and seasoned teachers.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI really like, and have done since secondary school, touching on many
\nsubjects to broaden my range of skills. The training in which I am
\noffers a wide variety of options and opportunities, both in the purely academic context, as well as in the various outlets that result from it
\na chance for curious and motivated students.<\/p>\n

How do you organise yourself between classes on the FLD campus and classes at Marcq Institution?<\/em><\/strong>
\nOrganisation is one of the keys to a successful year in the D1 prep school. It is indeed essential not to be overwhelmed by the numerous courses offered and to define a precise time for each subject according to your strengths and weaknesses. Do not hesitate to take half an hour
\nregularly to take stock of what needs to be worked on and vice versa.
\nand vice versa.<\/p>\n

What stood out for you?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI was particularly impressed by the mutual aid and good understanding
\nwithin the prep school, which provides an exceptional framework for
\nstudies.<\/p>\n

What qualities are needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nRigour, curiosity, ability to concentrate and autonomy.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?<\/em><\/strong>
\nDon’t neglect university studies in favour of the preparatory course. The 2 form a whole
\nwhich determines a potential passage to the 2nd year.
\nAlso, see the kh\u00f4lles as an opportunity and not a waste of time,
\nbecause they allow you to really test yourself and improve. A failed kh\u00f4lle
\ndoes not mean a failed year.<\/p>\n

Which association do you belong to?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI am not currently a member of an association, but I will change this as it is a way of getting out of my head and taking individual or collective responsibility.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe FLD seemed to me an obvious choice because of its reputation but also because of the very good feedback I got.<\/p>\n

What did you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe openness to subjects such as the law clinic or the humanities (economics, political science, etc.), which allow you to discover the scope of law in our society.
\nThis training, which offers a major in law and a minor in health, firstly allows you to become familiar with medical courses. It also allows us to really study both fields, in order to know if one or the other of the two courses is closer to our professional project: if the medicine course is not to our liking, we can continue with our law degree without having ‘lost’ a year.<\/p>\n

What stands out?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe closeness and benevolence of the teachers and the entire educational team.<\/p>\n

What qualities are needed to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nRigour, determination and curiosity!<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nBe regular, pay attention in class and above all don’t learn stupidly!
\nYou have to be aware that the workload is not the same: studying and learning two such different subjects must require motivation but above all a lot of organisation!<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI belong to the humanitarian association “Solid’Act”<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

Which course will you be joining in September 2022?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI am joining the 2nd year of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine & Maieutics of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille after having done a Licence 1 Law & Legal Culture Access Health at the FLD<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nFor the supervision, the framework that this faculty offers as well as the possibility to follow a LAS in a human-sized class.<\/p>\n

What did you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThis training allowed me to discover law while trying to integrate medicine. This also allowed me, if I failed in medicine, to be able to work in health law later on. The law course enabled me to enrich my general culture, I discovered fascinating subjects.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe number of people in the tutorial groups. There were only 12 of us per group for the law LAS! This is much smaller than in other faculties and allows a better quality of interaction.<\/p>\n

What qualities are needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nIt seems to me that you have to be motivated, determined and organised.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI think that to succeed at best you have to work regularly because there is a lot to learn!<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

\nI am joining the FGSM 2 at the Faculty of Medicine & Maieutics of the Catholic University of Lille after having done a Licence 1 Droit & Culture juridique Acc\u00e8s Sant\u00e9 at the FLD<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI chose the FLD for the supervision, the easy access to discussion with the teaching staff, as well as the teaching environment.<\/p>\n

What did you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe possibility of accessing medical courses while being able to learn about the law. The law deals with everyday conflicts that speak to many people. It is enriching to understand how our society has chosen to resolve and interpret relationships between people.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe first day of the new academic year was a highlight for me because we were welcomed in one of the largest lecture halls in the faculty with several hundred students from many different places. It was quite impressive!<\/p>\n

What qualities do you need to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI think you have to be motivated and have a lot of rigour and self-discipline.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nOrganisation is an important element to find your way in your classes, in your work and to work regularly.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI chose to study at the FLD because the classes are on a human scale, so it’s easier to integrate and above all it allows for more individualised teaching and faster progress. In addition, the FLD has a very pleasant working environment and a wide range of associations.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your course?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe EURO degree offers a wide range of learning opportunities and a broad cultural awareness of legal systems around the world. Moreover, the fact that most of the courses are taught in a foreign language is a real advantage in today’s society.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe supervised work is done in groups of no more than twenty students, which allows everyone to ask questions, to go into the most difficult points of the course in greater depth and to make faster progress in terms of methodology.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nRigour, organisation, patience and good reasoning skills.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed in this career path?<\/em><\/strong>
\nDon’t give up at the first sign of difficulty, but persevere and redouble your efforts. Law is a very demanding and precise discipline but with perseverance and time, everyone succeeds in the end.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nIts very complete aspect with the acquisition of legal and political knowledge but also the emphasis placed on the development of general culture in preparation for competitive examinations.<\/p>\n

What stands out for you?<\/em><\/strong>
\nHaving the director general of the department as a professor in the second year.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nRigour in work and perseverance, it is never easy to understand expectations at the beginning.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/strong><\/em>
\nWork in groups or in places that are conducive to work such as the Vauban university library.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?
\n<\/strong><\/em>I am currently the treasurer of ELSA Lille (The European Law Student’s Association), the Lille branch of an association present in France and throughout Europe.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe size of the class, the quality of the teaching, the uniqueness of the degree (no other university offers to link accounting and law from the L2 level)<\/p>\n

What is the most important thing?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI became passionate about accounting, which was the subject I hated the most during my high school years.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nTo be attentive to others, to listen, to show empathy.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed in these studies?<\/em><\/strong>
\nLaw studies are a long-distance race, some parts will be harder than others, but you should never give up in L1 because of bad results in S1, nothing is impossible or lost in advance.
\nAnd not to be in competition with your classmates.<\/p>\n

Which association do you belong to?<\/em><\/strong>
\nLast year on the campus of Issy-les-Moulineaux during my L1 I was part of the BDS of Issy<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nA master’s degree in tax law and corporate life, still at the FLD<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe FLD has many qualities that cannot be found anywhere else. It is driven by values of solidarity, proven support, and a certain success. The human size of our faculty and the individualised support, the tutorials, the talent of our professors, the international partnerships are all elements that boosted the motivation to join the FLD community.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your course?<\/em><\/strong>
\nAs a student in the first year of law and legal culture, I particularly liked the proximity between student and teacher. The lectures in the amphitheatre are not like a long tirade by the professor. Indeed, we can ask questions, request more information or even intervene. Also, more specific subjects such as the law clinic where we practice our oratory skills by arguing and using legal cases.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe highlight for me at the FLD was the very first day at the university. There was a lot of panic and curiosity about the course. But the presentation of the professors and especially the dean of the FLD quickly reassured me of my choice. I quickly understood that law was open to all fields and that when I left my university I would inevitably find a field of activity that I would like. This was a highlight because of the collective anxiety on all the frozen faces of me and my classmates, followed by a visible relief.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI don’t know exactly what I would like to specialise in. However, since I arrived at university I have discovered a particular interest in civil law, which is why I am considering doing an internship in a law firm to discover more about the profession and maybe even find out about branches that would suit me.<\/p>\n

What qualities should I have for law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nIn my opinion, the requirements for success in law school are: a great sense of organisation; being rigorous and above all a lot of motivation.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nOrganisation is the key to success in law school. Without it, law students are overwhelmed with work and cannot flourish.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI am part of the ambassadors association. This association consists in representing my faculty in schools or with students. Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Faculty of Law offers students a studious and motivating work environment. Also, we are supported by the professors, who are present through methodology seminars and also through tutoring.<\/p>\n

On a more personal note, the FLD convinced me of the idea of combining legal and economic-financial subjects in a single course from the second year.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nInterested in the technical side of finance, my academic and professional path would then be in the field of business law, more precisely in the private equity and M&A sector. This is why I decided to study a course of study that would be in line with the dynamics of this profession, which requires a great mastery of legal and financial concepts.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities required for law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nAs the university course is long, one of the first qualities, in my opinion, is to be ambitious and tenacious in order to remain focused and oriented on your professional project. It is important to bear in mind that law is a field of study that requires a thorough understanding of the concepts covered. Rigour and discipline are therefore essential qualities for the success of your future legal studies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″]\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe FLD was the only school to offer law degrees with options in political science or euro law. This diversity allows you to acquire skills and internal mobility that offer more opportunities.
\nThe premises are also very pleasant to study in.
\nWe also benefit from a very important support (help in the formation of a professional project, search for internships, workshops…)<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe advantage of the political science law course is the possibility of studying law, which provides a very solid general culture and opens up careers in political science.
\nThe options are varied around law and political science. They also allow the acquisition of professional skills.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThere is also an opening to journalism careers with the media module available in the degree.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nA certain amount of rigour is necessary, as well as good writing skills (which can be further developed during the course).<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed in this career path?<\/strong><\/em>
\nHelp each other and do methodology workshops.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?
\n<\/strong><\/em>I am part of the Students Ambassadors team and a member of the cheerleading team.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI would like to become a magistrate or a lawyer. This training and the cultural base it offers also allow me to take the ENM exam, which is essentially composed of both law and general knowledge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″]\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI chose the FLD because of the career opportunities offered by the unique trilingual Licence. The supervision and support allow me to make the elements more understandable, as law is a fascinating but complex discipline, especially in the first year. Finally, the working environment, the quality of the teaching staff and the joie de vivre of the Iss\u00e9 Campus were all important factors in my decision.<\/p>\n

What do you like about the course?<\/strong><\/em>
\nAs a language lover, I like the fact that I can have a variety of law courses, with different approaches. Each session allows me to have a specific point of view, the language courses are of high quality, which allows me to improve and to become trilingual quickly, which is an essential quality on the job market nowadays.
\nMoreover, the training is all the more enjoyable as it brings together students who have a common desire to be lawyers in a constantly changing world where the “simple law degree” is no longer enough to stand out from the crowd.
\nIn conclusion, as the training is unique, I would say that it allows us to start our career with confidence, being sure to make the difference with the others.
\nTo enter the FLD is to adopt it!<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI had the honour of giving a speech at the Nuit du droit organised by the Conseil constitutionnel on 4 October 2021, for its fourth edition. Faced with an amphitheatre of 250 people, including politicians from all parties, this first experience allowed me to confront myself with public speaking, which is a key element of the professions to which I am destined.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nFirst of all, after a third year of my degree spent in Erasmus in North America, I would like to do a Master’s degree in International Law in order to pass the New York Bar and become a lawyer. My choice of specialisation will become clearer with time, I am sure…<\/p>\n

Which association do you belong to?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI am fortunate to have a dual role within the Faculty.
\nFirst of all, I am an Ambassador of the Faculty, from the Licence 1. This requires a certain motivation, but exporting the values of this Parisian campus in France and abroad interests me enormously. The trust that I have been granted is also a motivating factor without a doubt.
\nFurthermore, I am the delegate of the Licence 1 EURO class, which is both a complex and time-consuming task, but also interesting insofar as it allows me to develop a certain autonomy in my work, as well as enriching my management and organisational skills.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/strong><\/em>
\nTo love what you do is, in my opinion, the most important thing.
\nIf you find pleasure in it as I do, if your day is motivated by the courses that await you at the Faculty, you will have won everything.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?
\n<\/strong><\/em>I tend to think that rigour is the most important quality: both the rigour of work, but also towards oneself.
\nBeing rigorous in one’s work allows one to be better organised, and thus to never run out of time.
\nBeing rigorous towards oneself allows one not to lie to oneself, to know when one should get back on the right track. Doubt is part of the journey, and rigour allows you to never escape your own deep convictions.<\/p>\n

\nFor the supervision, motivation and support from the teaching staff. In addition, the FLD emphasises groups in smaller groups, which encourages participation, understanding, etc.<\/p>\n

\nThe law and legal culture degree is a degree that presents law globally with various subjects: civil law, criminal law … but also English.<\/p>\n

What stands out for you?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe mix of courses between oral practice, participation, group work in the small group options and listening and attention in the lectures.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI would like to become a lawyer and more specifically in family law.<\/p>\n

\nWork regularly on the lectures and supervised work by rereading your lessons and doing the work requested and above all be organised.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your course?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI do law, supplemented by options. This allows me to stand out from others who either do other options than mine or who only do law.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI was able to participate in the Night of Law and interpret a big parliamentary speech in front of important members of the Constitutional Council and the Senate. It was really rewarding.<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI chose the FLD for its educational project PRELUDE in partnership with the University of Toulouse Capitole 1. The project allows us to acquire a complete methodology and knowledge allowing us to deepen the various legal subjects necessary to become a lawyer.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/strong><\/em>
\nWhat I like about this programme is the general approach to all possible types of law, there is not only one theme covered and this allows us to open up more easily to the different legal professions.<\/p>\n

What stood out for you?<\/strong><\/em>
\nWhat I found most striking about the FLD was the closeness to the professors. It’s nice to be able to ask them questions at the end of the course and throughout the year about the topics covered in class, or to ask them about the direction we should take in our studies. There is also a benevolence on the part of the students among themselves.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI think that in order to follow your studies you need to be organised, to know how to work, to be rigorous and attentive to the information given.<\/p>\n

Any advice on how to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe best advice I can give would be to be well prepared for the week’s tutorials in order to have a maximum depth of knowledge of the concepts covered during the course.<\/p>\n

\nNone at the moment.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI hope to do a master’s degree in administration and liquidation of companies in difficulty.<\/p>\n

What’s Lille like?<\/strong><\/em>
\nLille is a very beautiful city, historically and culturally speaking there is a lot to see and do. It’s nice to live there even if you come from the countryside like me! Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI chose the FLD to be able to follow a law course that also includes an opening to political science.
\nIndeed, I was hesitating a lot on “Parcoursup” because I liked law but also a lot of SES in high school, so the law and political science degree seemed to me the most adapted.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI like the mix of law and political science that I expected when I came here but I also had some good surprises like the wide choice of options and support that we are offered.
\nIndeed, we follow compulsory courses of “Clinique du droit” which allow us to improve our written and oral expression and which prepare us to be good lawyers, to be good professionals.
\nI appreciate all the more our TE courses which include our fundamental subjects in the support we receive by the quality of our teachers but also the small number of students in the class. The fact that there are only twenty or so students in the class has enabled me to express my difficulties more and to remedy them.
\nAs regards difficulties or questions, the FLD also offers us pedagogical workshops with an even smaller number of students (maximum 8) on a specific court topic or legal exercise to further our training and promote our success.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nSurviving L1! It’s always a bit difficult because you’re entering a whole new world.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI think that the only quality to come to law school is to like to write a little bit, not necessarily to be a great reader or to have loved French in high school, but writing essays or commentaries should not scare you.
\nAs for the rest, you also need to be organised, rigorous, etc., but that can be learned!<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nBe motivated! For me, success is not possible if you don’t appreciate what you are learning and if you are not motivated. On the other hand, if you are motivated, then no matter what your level is, your method will succeed.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI’m part of the association that makes the law bus possible. The law bus is a project created by the FLD in which volunteer lawyers and students come together to offer legal advice in the vicinity of Lille to people who need it. The aim is to make the law accessible to everyone. It’s very rewarding for us as students.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI don’t know exactly yet, but I have a slight preference for public law.<\/p>\n

What is Lille like?<\/em><\/strong>
\nLille is a great student city that I would definitely recommend!

Why did you choose FLD?
\nI chose the FLD for its very good reputation, the low or non-existent absenteeism of the teachers compared to other universities and the follow-up that we are given, in particular through the pedagogical workshops and\/or the tutoring that allows us to be alone with the teacher in order to have answers to our questions.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?
\nWhat I like is the practical aspect of the law clinic course with the different speakers, this course allows us to apply the theory that we see during the year.
\nThe options are also very diversified and interesting, the law and legal culture degree is general and allows us to touch everything.<\/p>\n

A highlight?
\nThe historical buildings and gardens made a big impression on me on the immersion day and on the first day of school! The environment is very important for success, so studying in beautiful places indirectly facilitates your studies.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities needed for law school?
\nPerseverance is in my opinion essential to go into law, sometimes you can feel overworked, you can feel like giving up with the workload but you have to remember that nothing is insurmountable and that with perseverance everything is possible.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?
\nOrganisation is often what is talked about but it is true, organisation is essential in law. With good organisation and determination anyone can succeed.<\/p>\n

Which association do you belong to?
\nI’m part of the LAW BUS: by means of a BUS we accompany lawyers who go to areas around Lille without access to the law to give them legal advice on their problems. The appointments are made in the bus and we, students, are with the lawyer during the meeting.
\nI am also part of the WANTED association.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?
\nI would like to become a lawyer in criminal law. To do this, I plan to consider the master’s degree in criminal law and criminal sciences, which is also taught at the FLD, because it is very complete and the subjects are very interesting.<\/p>\n

\nThe choice of the FLD was a natural one. Indeed, this establishment really combines the aspects I was looking for, in particular the way a faculty functions within a school, there is a real supervision of the teachers and a real cohesion between the students. In addition, the courses offered are so varied that they are fully adapted to our professional projects.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe law and legal culture degree provides, as it says, a real legal culture allowing us to adapt to our ambitions. While remaining very general, this degree also offers various options and in particular the law clinic course which allows a link between our theoretical courses and practice.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?
\n<\/strong><\/em>I think that to do a law degree you need to be quite methodical, organised and hard-working. After that, as long as you are motivated and determined, anything is possible!<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed in this career path?<\/strong><\/em>
\nThere is no real miracle recipe for success in law, you have to give it your best shot and not give up!<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/em>In my second year, I was in charge of communication for a radio association. For this third year, I decided to join the WANTED project in order to help future students in their quest to study.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>

\nI had wanted to study law for several years, and my cousin had already told me about this faculty. I liked the concept of being in a private university where there was more support and guidance.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your course?<\/em><\/strong>
\nIn DCJ we have the ordinary law courses but we also have subjects like law clinic, a quite lively course where we practice what we learn in the lecture hall. There is also the choice of humanity which is very interesting and allows us to have a rather entertaining option.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nLicence 1 with Covid was not easy at home but the teachers continued to support us despite the distance.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI would like to work with children in difficulty or in criminology. But I don’t close the doors to other options.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/em>I am part of the ambassadors of the free faculty of law. And I am also an E-ambassador to advise students who need it.<\/p>\n

\nI chose to go to the FLD for its supervision and follow-up. Indeed, when I arrived, I could see that all the teaching staff allowed the student to study in the best conditions. Moreover, there are pedagogical devices at our disposal in case we encounter problems, such as workshops or tutorials.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your course?<\/em><\/strong>
\nWhat I like most about the law and legal culture degree is its generality. As law covers a wide range of fields, I wanted to discover as much as possible through the different options offered. Finally, it also allows you to acquire a legal culture through the different humanities offered.<\/p>\n

\nThe FLD offers many different events, such as conferences, which sometimes include exceptional guests, and symposiums. Some of these are organised and run by the students themselves.<\/p>\n

What qualities does law require?<\/em><\/strong>
\nYou need to be well organised, rigorous in your work and curious.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?<\/em><\/strong>
\nFirst of all, it is very important to find one’s own work methodology, which differs according to one’s personality.
\nFinally, it is important to acquire a reflection, which necessarily involves curiosity. This reflection will allow you to understand the course, and then learning will be automatic. However, this is not entirely sufficient, it is also important to be present at all the classes because the teachers bring their reflection, which is a real trigger for learning.<\/p>\n

\nAfter my degree, I would like to do a master’s degree in medical liability law. However, I am also interested in master’s degrees focusing on bioethics.
\nFinally, after the master’s degree, I would like to do my doctorate so that I can become a lecturer and at the same time work as a lawyer in health law.<\/p>\n

What is Lille like?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI would say that in Lille you can find everything, it’s a warm and friendly city. What I appreciate most is the proximity of the places, most of the time I do everything on foot or by bike. \nThe DCJ degree offers a great diversity of courses, allowing you to open up to as many subjects as possible, which seems fundamental to me in order to know what you like or not for your future studies. Moreover, this course offers law clinic courses, which, in the first year, allow us to be close to professionals and real cases, which is very enriching, even if we do not intend to become lawyers.<\/p>\n

\nBe motivated above all and enjoy what you study. We all experience low morale, but I think it is essential to keep in mind the reasons why you are studying. Mutual support between students is also a factor that seems fundamental to me.<\/p>\n

\nI would say that one of my first-year degree subjects was taught exclusively in English: European Comparative Law. This course allowed me to confront myself with other cultures, to broaden my world view and to acquire new skills.<\/p>\n

\nWhat I like about my training is the international aspect which allows us to acquire an open mind and language skills that are essential in today’s working world.<\/p>\n

What stands out for you?<\/em><\/strong>
\nWhat stood out for me in my training was the simulation of a UN assembly in the first year in which we represent a country (delegation) which exchanges with the other countries in order to draft resolutions (actions which can be implemented in the world). These resolutions are then sent to the UN headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities needed to study law?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI think that to succeed in law you have to be motivated and organised.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed in law studies?<\/em><\/strong>
\nFor me, the most important thing to succeed is to like what you do. This allows you to be interested in law in all aspects of daily life and thus to be able to put into practice the theory you study.<\/p>\n

\nI am part of the Wanted association (the university ambassadors) and at the same time I am the sponsor of a student in L1 and a delegate of the Euro rights class.<\/p>\n

\nAfterwards, I plan to work in the European institutions or in organisations fighting for human rights.<\/p>\n

What is Lille like?<\/em><\/strong>
\nLille is an exciting student city with a lot to discover about the culture of the north. The student side also means that there are plenty of bars and nightclubs to clear your head. Why did you choose FLD?
\nBeing originally from French Guiana, I decided to leave my region to study at the FLD because this university was a favourite for me. Indeed, because of its human size, it allows for better communication with the professors, stimulates speaking in class and favours concentration, which has a real consequence on the progress of work and on the supervision.<\/p>\n

What do you like about the course?
\nWhat I like most about the training is solving practical cases. This is the exercise that is closest to professional practice and is useful for competitive exams such as the bar, and here at the FLD, you are very quickly and well prepared.<\/p>\n

A highlight?
\nThe support of the professors in the projects that the students carry out.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?
\nI plan to stay at the FLD next year to do the Master’s degree in labour law, which is offered on a sandwich course. I discovered labour law this year, and the technical nature of this subject and the passion that the professors made me feel during their teaching greatly helped me to make my choice for the continuation of my studies.<\/p>\n

What qualities are needed to succeed in law?
\nThe law course is particularly rigorous, so you need to be very well organised but above all you need to be motivated, which helps you to bounce back when you feel blue.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?
\nTo succeed, I would advise you to work from the beginning of the year because the semesters pass very quickly. I would also advise you not to neglect any subject when learning.<\/p>\n

\nLaw is a very diverse subject and it allows me to discover many elements that compose it. In my degree, I was also able to choose options such as political science, international and European relations as well as the great principle of law. This is a real advantage.<\/p>\n

\nEvery week, we have a ‘law clinic’, which allows us to improve our oral and written skills. It’s a real sharing between students and teachers, it allows us to progress each week and to be more and more at ease. Thanks to this course, I have learned a lot about law and about myself!<\/p>\n

\nAfterwards, I would like to work in criminology or to be a police commissioner.<\/p>\n

\nI chose this course because I was attracted to social law. It’s a discipline that interferes with the life of every individual.
\nWhat I like about my training is the dual competence it offers, which combines technical and practical performance in employment law and mastery of human resources issues.
\nThe real advantage of the sandwich course is the meeting between theoretical learning and practice. Indeed, I felt a deep need to confront myself with the reality of the working world, while pursuing an education that I consider indispensable.<\/p>\n

\nThe key to success is not necessarily to learn by heart, you have to understand and know how to use the course in an intelligent way and adapt it to the various methodologies that can be encountered in exams.<\/p>\n

\nI am a member of the WANTED association. For me, it is very important that students advise and guide future FLD students. I really like to feel useful and to help. I think that career guidance is very important.<\/p>\n

\nI joined the FLD to follow the Law and Political Science course after my baccalaureate ES. My ambition was to study geopolitics and international conflict management. My professional project changed when I discovered law and legal demonstration, especially in the second year. I knew then that I wanted to become a lawyer.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nAt the end of my second year, I took the competitive examination to join the BLM programme in partnership with EDHEC because I wanted to benefit from a double training.
\nThe BLM programme is remarkable for at least three reasons:<\/p>\n

We benefit from a real double training: our academic life is organised between the Catho and EDHEC during our three years in Lille. As a result, in addition to our legal skills, we develop real skills in finance, management, strategy, etc. These skills are highly valued on the job market. These skills are highly valued on the legal market, and open up other perspectives if we so wish.
\nThe “practical” dimension of the programme is a specificity (compared to traditional university courses), and represents a definite asset during our professional experiences;
\nThe compulsory gap year between M1 and M2 allows us to complete our training with professional placements. It also allows us to go abroad and to define our project.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nIt is customary to cite rigour as an essential quality for law studies. Although essential, it seems to me that it also develops during the apprenticeship. Then I would say curiosity!<\/p>\n

\nI strongly believe that the pursuit of a professional project (specific or not) is the best motivation.<\/p>\n

\nI had already heard a lot about this faculty before I enrolled. I chose the FLD because there was a real framework both at the academic level and at the professional level. Indeed, at the academic level, the fact that we are a small class allows us to follow the course much better. But also the “one week, one course” system allows a better assimilation of the course because the lectures follow the supervised work.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nWhat I like about my training is the correlation between law and taxation, a subject that concerns us every day without realizing it. Furthermore, we are lucky to have a tutor who gives us the desire to learn because he is in the business himself.<\/p>\n

\nWhat struck me was that during the period of the global pandemic and the confinements, the whole FLD team was super reactive, i.e. all our classes were maintained on video, as were the exams, but above all, the attentiveness of the professors and the FLD administration had not changed!<\/p>\n

\nI would say that to do law, you need a minimum of writing skills, but also a certain sense of organisation. And not forgetting a key element to succeed is motivation!<\/p>\n

\nA valuable piece of advice I give to succeed is to always give 100% to what you do, and also never forget to look at the news, for your general knowledge!<\/p>\n

\nConcerning intra-university, I am part of the wanted project, which is a project where I am an ambassador for my faculty, so I have to promote it in different forums or fairs.

\nThe Faculty of Law at the Catholic University of Lille caught my eye right away. Since the beginning of high school, I have been able to visit various faculties during open days, and I instantly liked the Catholic one. Indeed, the framework provided by the professors, the opportunity to combine theoretical and practical training through the Law Clinic, the possibility to work hand in hand with professionals and the environment convinced me immediately.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe Master 1 in Private Law and Criminal Sciences in which I am currently studying has a specialisation in children and the family. Therefore, the subjects I have chosen are very specific and all interest me. Unlike the Bachelor’s degree, the choice of a Master’s degree allows you to select and focus on subjects that you really like. For example, the Master’s degree I’m studying allows me to learn about criminal procedure, juvenile law and the rights of foreigners.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe integration of the students during the first year of the Bachelor’s degree was a highlight. It allowed me to meet many people who have since become close friends and I have very good memories of them.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nThe essential qualities required to enter law school are mainly determination, autonomy and motivation.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed in this career path?<\/strong><\/em>
\nStudying law is not easy. However, with good organisation, regular learning and motivation it is far from insurmountable. It is largely possible to reconcile law studies with a busy student life.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/em>I am currently part of the WANTED project, which consists of promoting the Law Faculty’s courses. Indeed, I am very attached to the teachings of the faculty, so I wanted to join the project in order to be able to share my personal experience as a law student, and advise future students.<\/p>\n

\nMy ambition is to take the competitive examination for the \u00c9cole Nationale de Magistrature in Bordeaux in order to become a Children’s Judge.<\/p>\n

\nI chose the FLD after visiting the different law schools in the region. I was immediately interested in the environment, the welcome and the supervision. This faculty offered a real transition between high school and higher education as well as support throughout the course, something I really needed as I was afraid of being completely on my own when I started university.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your course?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe Master 1 in private law and criminal sciences allows you to have a tailor-made training with a very wide choice of subjects depending on the field you want to study. The legal and judicial professions course in Master 2 is a real advantage if you want to take the competitive examinations with a complete programme and training for the tests that candidates fear, such as a simulation of the Grand Oral for example.<\/p>\n

A highlight?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe day I started my first year of the degree course was a highlight for me. I remember being amazed by the Lille campus and its historic buildings. The pre-commencement day allowed me to know right away that I had chosen the right faculty.<\/p>\n

\nThe main thing is to be a good worker. Law requires regular work and a lot of independence. You also need to be able to think on your feet and have a good pen to write in law.<\/p>\n

Glory holds a Bachelors of European Law (FLD Lille)<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nIt was the only course that was really bilingual and international on the courseup, so I was attracted in particular by the content of the course, which includes a lot of comparative law subjects that give an overview of the legal systems of the 4 corners of the world.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe possibility to learn and train in English and French, while deepening my technical vocabulary through LV2 and LV3. In addition, the teachers are very reputable, attentive and encouraging.<\/p>\n

What stands out?<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe availability of the FLD staff who make sure that students are doing well, especially when they are “alone” in France.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nRigour, perseverance.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?<\/em><\/strong>
\nUnderstand what you are learning and know your memory type in order to learn your courses efficiently.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?
\n<\/strong><\/em>During my Bachelors I was part of IELSociety, Sourire d’enfant Congo, the students federation of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille and the Students Ambassadors Association. During my Masters : the Students Federation of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille \/ the Students Ambassadors Association \/ Earth.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nWork internationally: either in an organisation, in an NGO or in the governments of my home countries. In any case, I am very interested in the legislative process that guarantees human rights.<\/p>\n

How is Lille?<\/em><\/strong>
\nCold… but it’s a nice city when you’re well surrounded, especially since there are many students, centres that offer activities for students, especially to integrate foreign students (e.g. FEU in Lille, associations for Erasmus students…).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/4″]\n

Emma did 2 years of CPGE ENS D1 + law degree at Paris-Saclay and a 3rd year of Bachelors of Law & Political Science (FLD Lille)<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?<\/em><\/strong>
\nAfter having spent my first two years of Licence de Droit in a public faculty, I chose to join the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille in my third year of Licence. I noticed many differences, mainly in the teaching methods, the pedagogy, the supervision and the premises. I liked it immediately and so I chose to continue my training in a Master’s degree at the FLD where I continue to flourish.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?<\/em><\/strong>
\nWhat I particularly like about my training is the quality of the teaching. Most of it is taught in English. I have already made considerable progress in languages in just one semester. The teachers are very involved and have the will to see us succeed which is particularly pleasant and motivating. The teaching methods are varied: lectures; supervised work; group work; personal work; research work etc.<\/p>\n

What stands out?<\/em><\/strong>
\nSince the beginning of the semester, I have noticed a striking mutual aid between all the students in the class. The teachers try to create cohesion rather than making the students compete with each other, which is very appreciable.<\/p>\n

What qualities are required to study law?<\/strong><\/em>
\nOn a personal note, I think that to succeed and flourish in law, you need to have personal qualities that I call ‘academic’. Indeed, law exercises (at least in the bachelor’s degree) require a lot of rigour. Regardless of one’s ability, consistent and regular personal work is essential. However, the most important thing is motivation. Having a defined professional project (even if it is likely to evolve) helps to maintain motivation over the years.<\/p>\n

Any advice to succeed?<\/em><\/strong>
\nLaw studies are demanding, but it is quite possible to have a life on the side and still have excellent results. The key is to be organised! If you want to do sports in parallel with your studies, have a student job, see your friends and family… you need to organise your time.<\/p>\n

Do you belong to any association?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI am an ambassador for the FLD in the Wanted project.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?<\/em><\/strong>
\nI want to continue my Master’s degree with a doctorate in order to become a teacher-researcher. At the same time, I would like to work for an International Organisation and more precisely for an Institution of the European Union.<\/p>\n

What is Lille like?<\/strong><\/em>
\nI was born in Lille and I still love this city! Not too big, not too small; close to England, Belgium and the Netherlands; good food; good parties; nice people – in short, a perfect city for students! Florion has a degree in Law and Legal Culture (FLD Lille)<\/p>\n

Why did you choose the FLD?
\nI chose the FLD for the quality of its human-sized courses, its university environment and its faculty life.<\/p>\n

What do you like about your training?
\nI am in a general business law field, and I like the versatility of the subjects taught. It is an ideal master’s degree to have a global vision of the business world and this is all the more appropriate to consider a future specialisation. What interests me most is company law and tax law.<\/p>\n

What stands out for you?
\nThe first course in Master 1 and in particular the change from a class of several hundred students in the lecture hall to a class of just thirty or so students, it made me think of going back to my high school years.<\/p>\n

What are the qualities for law?
\nTo be a good law student, you obviously need to be rigorous, organised, motivated and open-minded to legal and political news.<\/p>\n

Any advice for success?
\nYou need to master the legal and methodological basics. However, the most important thing is to give yourself the means to succeed, nothing is impossible, it is all a question of work and motivation. According to Winston Churchill, “success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.<\/p>\n

What organisation are you a member of?
\nI’ve been a member of the Wanted Project since my second degree and I’m also Vice-President of a political party in the Lille Student Parliament.<\/p>\n

What do you want to do next?
\nI want to become a lawyer specialising in business law. However, I remain open-minded to all evolutions on my professional project.<\/p>\n

What is Lille like?
\nIt’s a very friendly city, warm and very centralized.
