Christophe BELLON is a doctor in History from Sciences Po Paris. He defended his thesis in November 2009 with the following title: “Parliamentary deliberation and the majority phenomenon under the Third Republic. The example of Aristide Briand, deputy of the Loire (1902-1919)”.<\/p>\n

He has been a lecturer in Contemporary History at the Faculty of Law on the Paris campus since July 2011. He was appointed Vice-Dean of the Issy-les-Moulineaux branch in July 2014. Christophe BELLON is a member of C3RD.<\/p>\n

He supervises the contemporary history seminar for undergraduates at the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus, which includes the history of French secularism, eloquence and power, the parliamentary construction of law, from war to peace: thinking Europe, building peace, and the great political figures in the history of the European Union.
\nHis fields of research are the history of French political life, parliamentary history and law, and the political and parliamentary history of religion. He is also a specialist in the history of Aristide BRIAND.<\/p>\n

Nadia BEDDIAR<\/p>\n

Associate Professor in Public Law

Nadia BEDDIAR is a lecturer in public law, holder of the HDR, at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille and a researcher associated with the CERAPS-CNRS (Centre for Political and Social Administrative Studies and Research).<\/p>\n

His doctorate thesis, defended in 2011, is on the legal status of detained minors and his habilitation to direct research is entitled “The rights and freedoms of the minor user of public services”.
\nHer research work focuses on prison law, children’s rights and administrative law. As a member of the “Childhood and Family” chair, she teaches on the rights of the child and juvenile criminal law.<\/p>\n

Nadia Beddiar also participates in the work of the Observatoire de la\u00efcit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Christine BRIDGE has a doctorate in private law. She defended her thesis in 2006 on : “Favour in conflicts of laws”. Andra COTIGA is a doctor in private law since 2010. The title of her thesis is: “Institutional competition in the European Union: the example of company law”. She is a professor of Catholic universities since 2015, permanent member of the Faculty since September 2010, director of the Master 2 in International and European Law, co-director of the International and European Law School (IELS), permanent member of the Faculty and member of the C3RD. Pierre COULAUD<\/p>\n

PhD Student<\/p>\n

Pierre Coulaud completed his Master’s degree in Human Rights, Security and Development at the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille by writing his dissertation on the subject of “The legal meaning of love in union contracts”. Today, he is writing a thesis on the constitutional principle of fraternity under the supervision of Professor Mathieu DISANT (University of Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne) and Anne-Claire GRANDJEAN, lecturer (Catholic University of Lille). A notion that emerged from revolutionary public law, fraternity is now consecrated as a principle with constitutional value. The purpose of this thesis will be to expose the new legal implications of this young principle.<\/p>\n

He is a contractual doctoral student at the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille and coordinator of the Access to Law Bus, which aims to provide free legal aid to the most vulnerable people and to reach out to areas where there are no legal clinics. He is also involved in the University’s Pr\u00e9p’Avocat programme, for which he gives a course on the principle of fraternity and prepares students for the Grand Oral de libert\u00e9s fondamentales. Since January 2021, he has been a lecturer in fundamental freedoms law. He is a member of the C3RD (Centre of Research on the Relations between Risk and Law) and of the CERCRID (Centre for Critical Research on Law).<\/p>\n

Specialised in fundamental freedoms and LGBTI law, his research work focuses on the feminist approach to law and in particular on gender and sex issues.<\/p>\n

Pierre Coulaud is very involved in the associative field as he was the president of Printemps Solidaire and a member of the board of Amnesty International’s youth branch in Lille. During his last year of his Master’s degree, he was a volunteer for Cimade and held free legal consultations for exiles in the Grande-Synthe camp.\u00a0”<\/p>\n

Yacine DAQUIN holds a Master 2 in Medical Liability Law from the Facult\u00e9 Libre de Droit de Lille. He is a member of the Centre of Research on the Relationship between Risk and Law (C3RD) and of the Chair of Law and Ethics of Digital Health. He teaches general introduction to law and family law in the first year. He was also a lecturer in general introduction to law for two years at Sciences po Lille.\u00a0Finally, he is involved in the University Diploma “Digital Health<\/em>” at the Faculty of Medicine and Maieutics.<\/p>\n

Since 2018 he is a PhD assistant at C3RD as well as at the Centre of Research information, law and society of the University of Namur. He is currently writing a thesis on “The regulation of artificial intelligence in contemporary medicine<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science that is shaking up all spheres of society, including health. While industrial machines have led to the automation of simple and repetitive tasks, AI would allow the automation of creative tasks requiring intelligence.<\/p>\n

In healthcare, studies showing AI capable of performing diagnostic or predictive acts with equal or greater accuracy than doctors are multiplying. These performances promise standardisation and improvement of care because everyone would have access to an expert in his or her field, i.e. an AI. On the other hand, ethical and legal questions are emerging concerning the risks of automating such sensitive procedures. This risk quickly came up against the desire of the medical profession to strengthen the responsibility of the doctor so that he or she remains the sole decision-maker. However, the underlying question is more general: what regulation is needed to reduce the risks of AI without hampering innovation? To answer this question, European and French legislators have proposed ethical principles that should govern the regulation of AI: transparency, responsibility, privacy, non-discrimination, safety.<\/p>\n

The objective of this research is twofold. Firstly, the functioning and impact of AI on medicine are not well known, so it will be necessary to identify them. Secondly, it will assess the relevance of the legal rules applicable to AI in the light of the ethical principles raised by EU and national legislation.<\/p>\n

Delphine DOGOT<\/p>\n

Delphine Dogot is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law. She researches and teaches in the areas of law and technology, international law and legal philosophy, in particular in relation to global governance, risk and security.<\/p>\n

She is the Director of LeStudio, a collaborative and creative digital\/law lab and the Academic Director of the Master in Law, Governance & Technology and Winter & Summer and Graduate Diploma in Law and Digital Technologies.<\/p>\n

Before joining the Faculty of Law, Delphine Dogot was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Law Department of HEC Paris, an OXPO Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School, a Fellow at Sciences Po Law School and a researcher the Perelman Centre for Legal Philosophy at ULB where she is an affiliate researcher.<\/p>\n

She is regularly invited to teach at Sciences Po Paris, Universit\u00e9 Aix-Marseille, HEC Paris, Universit\u00e9 Panth\u00e9on Assas, Universidad des Los Andes, Universit\u00e9 Libre de Bruxelles et Universidad UNISINOS Porto Alegre.<\/p>\n

Bernadette DUARTE is a doctor in public law since 2005. Her thesis is on : “Restrictions to human rights guaranteed by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the American and European Conventions on Human Rights”. She has been a professor at Catholic universities since December 2008, a permanent member of the Faculty, a member of the chair Rights and Best Interests of the Child and a member of C3RD since 2006.<\/p>\n

She teaches international protection of human rights and minorities. Every year, she organises a mock trial before the ECHR on human rights and coordinates the drafting of a legal and administrative monitoring bulletin (2 publications per year) by the students of the master’s degree in public law for the prefectures. His research fields are mainly public law and human rights (European Convention on Human Rights, national pact on civil and political rights, minority rights).<\/p>\n

Alexandre DUMERY is an Associate Professor of Private Law \u2013 HDR from Aix-Marseille University after having defended a thesis in 2007 on the victim’s fault in civil liability law. He has been a permanent lecturer at the faculty since 2009, director since 2014 of the Master 1 in business law in work-study program and of the Master 2 in business law and corporate risk management in a work-study program (BLCRM) in the Issy-les-Moulineaux Campus and member of C3RD. He teaches civil law (law of obligations) and commercial law (law of companies in difficulty). His areas of research are mainly civil liability law, in particular compensation for damage caused by new forms of mobility and the law of companies in difficulty. He obtained his HDR from the LARJ (EA 3603) at the Universit\u00e9 du Littoral-C\u00f4te d’Opal in 2024.<\/p>\n

Alice CARAVETTA<\/p>\n

After studying for 4 years at the Faculty of Law and joining the first class of the M2 Health and Medical Liability Law, Alice Fretin became a lecturer at the FLD, then Senior Lecturer in 2017 after defending her thesis on the responsibility of individuals for the transmission of disease.<\/p>\n

Specialised in personal law and in bioethics, she shares her teaching between the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Medicine and Maieutics. She has been a member of C3RD since 2009 and of the Chair for Children and Families since 2019, and her research focuses on the interaction between law and health. After having directed the M2 Criminal Law for a year, she has been directing the Law and Legal Culture – Health Access degree since 2020 and now manages the “Pr\u00e9p’Avocats” programme as well as the brand new competitive examination preparation programme: the PAC.<\/p>\n

He obtained his certificate of aptitude for the profession of lawyer (CAPL) He has been a lecturer at the faculty since 2014, permanent since 2015, responsible for the International Business and Law course (IESEG partnership) on the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus and a member of C3RD. He teaches commercial law (in-depth company law) and French and European Contract Law.<\/p>\n

His research areas are business law, competition law and contract law, both in France and internationally (especially Greek law).<\/p>\n

Sylvie HUMBERT holds a doctorate in legal history since 1993. She has been a professor at Catholic Universities since 2010, a permanent member of the Faculty and a member of the C3RD since 2006. She teaches the history of political and social institutions from antiquity, the history of private law, the history of justice, the history of political ideas up to the 18th century, judicial science and the penitentiary system in France, and the history of lawyers (PrepAvocat). Course: Participation in an International Moot court in International Human Rights<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aur\u00e9lia Lamiroy is a doctoral assistant in European law at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille, in co-direction with the University of Namur since October 2019. She is a member of the Centre de recherche sur les relations entre le risque et le droit (C3RD) and the Centre de recherche information, droit et soci\u00e9t\u00e9 of the University of Namur.<\/p>\n

Her thesis (co-supervised by Dean Panoussis, Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille, and Dean Nihoul, Faculty of Law of the University of Namur) focuses on the vulnerable person in the European Courts. The objective of this thesis is to compare the appreciation by the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union of persons designated as “vulnerable” and the legal effects of this designation on fundamental rights.<\/p>\n

In parallel, Aur\u00e9lia assists the coordination of the “Solidarity” Project of the Faculty of Law, by setting up permanent access to the Law and by developing academic events on various themes related to vulnerability. She is also a coach for the Cassin competition prepared by M2 Human Rights, Security and Development students.<\/p>\n

Franck LUDWICZAK has a doctorate in private law and criminal sciences. He defended his thesis in 2006 on : “Alternative procedures to prosecution: another criminal justice”. Since 2009, he has been a lecturer and member of the Research Centre on the Relationship between Risk and Law (C3RD) at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille. He is the director of the master 2 Droit de la Mati\u00e8re P\u00e9nale as well as the Dipl\u00f4me universitaire en pr\u00e9vention de la r\u00e9cidive.<\/p>\n

Since 2018, he is also co-director of the European School of Critical Criminology – ECCE. He teaches general criminal law and criminal procedure in bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as alternative dispute resolution. Within the Master 2 in criminal law, he supervises the seminar “society and criminal risk”, the annual study day organised by the students of the Master as well as the law in action consisting of simulated criminal trials and mediations. His research interests include criminal procedure, alternatives to prosecution and more generally the risks of legal insecurity in criminal matters.<\/p>\n

Blandine MALLEVAEY<\/p>\n

Blandine Mallevaey, Doctor HDR in private law and criminal sciences, is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille, specialised in civil and criminal law of the family and the child. She is a member of the Research Centre on the relationship between risk and law. Since 2016, she has been the holder of the Research Chair on Children’s Rights and Best Interests, which became the Chair on Children and Families in 2019. Her work focuses on parental authority and on the child in the face of civil and criminal justice.<\/p>\n

She defended her thesis on “The hearing of the minor in civil proceedings” (2015), directed the multidisciplinary research “Hearing and discernment of the child before the family court judge” (2019) and devoted her work for the habilitation to direct research to the theme “Protection and autonomy : two requirements in the service of the best interests of the child” (2020). She co-edited with Alice Fretin the book “Child and Sex”, published in January 2021 by Dalloz, then with Romain Laulier the book “Vulnerabilities and access to justice”, to be published in 2022 by the Institut francophone pour la justice et la d\u00e9mocratie. She has also been the scientific director of the book “Parental alienation: a cross-section of views”, which will be published in September 2021 by Mare & Martin.<\/p>\n

Within the Faculty of Law, Blandine Mallevaey is Assessor to the Dean and in charge of research and doctoral policy. She is the director of the Master 2 in Child and Family Law, the university diploma in Children’s Rights and Best Interests and the university diploma in Child Auditing which will open in October 2021.<\/p>\n

Alicia M\u00e2zouz is a doctor of private law, lecturer, and pedagogical manager of the Licence Law & Legal Culture at the Issy-les-Moulineaux Campus. She defended her thesis on “The price of the human body” in 2014 at the University of Paris I Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne.<\/p>\n

She also holds a certificate of aptitude for the profession of lawyer. She carried out her research and teaching activities at several universities (University of Paris I Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne, University of Cergy-Pontoise, University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vall\u00e9e) before joining the FLD as a permanent member.<\/p>\n

Her work is marked by the study of the link between law and human body, but also by an interest in civil law and the sources of law as well as the difficulties encountered by the law when confronted with new technologies. She has had the opportunity to speak at several conferences in France and Quebec on various topics (The body of the deceased, Cynicism and Law, Law and social networks, Drones and Law…) and to actively contribute to the work of the Council for Civil Drones.<\/p>\n

Jean MOTTE dit Falisse, Doctor of Criminology from UCLouvain (B), psycho-criminologist (Master of Psychology in Criminological Clinics from the University of Rennes), is Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille within which he co-initiated the creation of the European School of Criminology in January 2019.<\/p>\n

A wide range of professional experience in the fields of educational and social work, psychological expertise in justice, treatment in prisons and professional training for perpetrators of sexual assault, has fuelled his research and university teaching.<\/p>\n

His publications and teaching cover a wide range of criminological and multidisciplinary themes: social conscience and moral conscience, impulses and personality structuring, responsibility, the meaning of speech, delinquency and interculturality, etc. He is the editor of three books published by L’Harmattan: “De la Faute et du Crime, natures et cultures”; “On the Meaning of Punishment”; “On Recidivism and Forgiveness”.<\/p>\n

Ioannis PANOUSSIS<\/p>\n

Ioannis K. Panoussis is currently the Vice-Rector in charge of
\nInternational Development of the Universit\u00e9 catholique de Lille.
\nBetween 2014 and 2020, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the
\nCatholic University of Lille (Lille\/Paris) and delegate for international
\ndevelopment for the University. He co-directs a Master\u2019s degree in
\nInternational and European Law, specialising in \u201cHuman Rights,
\nSecurity and Development\u201d. He specialises in public international law,
\ninternational and European human rights law, international
\nhumanitarian law and refugee law.
\nHe has worked as an expert for the UNHCR (UNHCR judge\/assessor at
\nthe National Asylum Court) and for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
\n(training mission in Afghanistan for staff involved in the protection of
\nhuman rights in ministries, international organisations and NGOs). He is
\nan expert at the Ecole Nationale d\u2019Administration (ENA) and at the
\nInstitut d\u2019Etudes Humanitaires Internationales of Aix Marseille
\nUniversity.
\nHe is frequently invited to several prestigious institutions (International
\nInstitute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, EDHEC, IESEG, IEP of Lille) and
\nhas been an evaluator for the Belgian National Fund for Scientific

Delphine POLLET-PANOUSSIS<\/p>\n

Public Law Professor
\r\nDirector of the Legal and Administrative Professions Masters degree<\/p>\n

Delphine POLLET-PANOUSSIS is a Catholic University Professor of Public Law. She joined the Faculty of Law in 2006. She teaches Administrative Law, Public Services Law, Fundamental Freedoms and Administrative Litigation Procedure. Since 2015, she has been the director of the Master’s degree in “Legal and Administrative Professions”, a professional master’s degree in general public law.<\/p>\n

Her research is mainly focused on administrative law and litigation and fundamental freedoms. Her thesis was on “Unassailable acts before the administrative judge” (2006) and her HDR subject was on “Administrative law and litigation in the face of risk and subjectivisation” (2019). She devotes numerous works to the question of risk management by administrative law, the rights of detainees or the protection of whistleblowers. She is moreover responsible for the “Alert” research group within C3RD – the faculty’s research centre.<\/p>\n

Aur\u00e9lien RACCAH is a doctor in comparative public law since 2009. His thesis topic is: “The direct application of European Union law by decentralised entities. A comparative approach in Germany, in the United Kingdom and in France”. He obtained his certificate of aptitude for the profession of lawyer in 2009 and works at ELEA (Paris).
\nHe is a permanent lecturer at the faculty since 2009, assistant to the dean in charge of international development, pedagogical manager of the European law degree, co-director of the International and European Law School (IELS), manager of the PrepAvocat and member of C3RD.
\nHe teaches in European Legal Proccedings, European Integration and German public law. He supervises a research seminar on international and European law.
\nHis research area is European Union law. He is a founding member of the Global Legal Network (GLN).<\/p>\n

Marion ROUSSEAUX, doctoral assistant in private law and criminal sciences at the Faculty of Law of l’Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille, is specialised in civil and criminal law of the family and the child. She is a member of the Research Centre on the Relationship between Risk and Law and of the Chair on Children and Families. She is also a member of the Centre droit \u00e9thique et proc\u00e9dures at the University of Artois. Her thesis entitled “l’instrumentalisation de l’enfant mineur par ses parents” is directed by Jo\u00eblle Vassaux (University of Artois) and Blandine Mallevaey (Catholic University of Lille).<\/p>\n

Instrumentalisation should be understood here as the fact that parents use their child to achieve a goal that is alien to, or even contrary to, the child’s interests. The purpose sought may be profit, conformity with ideological convictions or the satisfaction of a personal desire. This thesis therefore involves the study of the criminal response to this problem on the one hand and the protection of the instrumentalised child by civil law on the other. Alongside the law, this subject includes an ethical dimension regarding the place of the minor in his or her family but also the role of the parents in the situation where an offence is committed by a minor.<\/p>\n

Valentina Volpe is an Associate Professor of Public International
\nLaw and the Director of the International and European Law
\nSchool (IELS). She also co-directs the Advanced Master in
\nInternational and European Organizations\/Human Rights,
\nSecurity &Development at the Faculty of Law, Universit\u00e9
\nCatholique de Lille (France). Additionally, Valentina serves as an
\nadjunct professor at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome and
\nUniversidad de los Andes in Bogot\u00e1, and has been an EU expert
\nsince 2019.
\nValentina is also a Senior Research Affiliate and former Senior
\nResearch Fellow (postdoc)at the Max Planck Institute for
\nComparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) in
\nHeidelberg, Germany. She has held a visiting researcher position
\nat Yale Law School, and her academic background includes law
\nstudies in Italy, France, and the US. Valentina holds a Ph.D.
\nsumma cum laude in Law and Legal Theory from the Italian
\nInstitute of Human Sciences (SUM) of Naples, now part of the
\nScuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.
\nHer research interests lie at the intersection of global,
\ncomparative, and international public law, with a particular
\nfocus on law and globalization, European non-state actors,
\nhuman rights, and democracy promotion.
\nIn addition to her current roles, Valentina has taught as a visiting
\nor adjunct professor at Sciences Po Paris, Cat\u00f3lica Global
\nSchool of Law in Lisbon, the China University of Political Science
\nand Law (CUPL) in Beijing, the UN-mandated University for
\nPeace (UPEACE) in San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, and the University of

Lina WILLIATTE-PELLITTERI has been a doctor of private law since 2003 and has been qualified to direct research since 2010. She is also a lawyer at the Lille Bar since 2004.<\/p>\n

Professor at the Catholic University of Lille, she created and directs since 2006 the Master in Health Law and Medical Liability. Today she is co-owner of the Chair in Digital Health Law and Ethics and director of C3RD. Involved at the national level, she has been Vice President of the French Society of Telemedicine and of the French Society of Digital Health for several years.<\/p>\n
